The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II represents one of the most recognisable chapters in modern Rolls-Royce history. Introduced as the evolution of the original Silver Shadow, the Shadow II brought meaningful mechanical improvements while retaining the quiet authority, comfort and presence for which the marque is known.
This 1977 example is finished in Acrylic White with a brown leather interior, a combination that suits the car beautifully. Elegant, understated and unmistakably British, it gives the Silver Shadow II exactly the calm and dignified appearance one expects from a Rolls-Royce of this era.
Powered by the famous 6.75-litre V8 engine, this Silver Shadow II delivers its performance in the way a true Rolls-Royce should. Not through drama or aggression, but through smoothness, torque and effortless progress. It is a phenomenal car to drive. Relaxed, composed and remarkably capable, with a depth of torque that still surprises once the car is on the move.
This car is right-hand drive and presents in excellent overall condition. It is not a concours car, but it is a very strong and highly usable example. The paintwork, interior and general presentation reflect careful ownership, while the car has also benefitted from maintenance by a recognised Rolls-Royce specialist in the Netherlands. Invoices and documentation are present.
The car is not completely original, as it has been fitted with a Bluetooth radio designed with a period-correct classic appearance. In our view, this is a sensible and tasteful upgrade. It improves usability without disturbing the character of the cabin.
For many years, the Silver Shadow has remained one of the more undervalued classic Rolls-Royce models. Production numbers were relatively high by Rolls-Royce standards, which has kept values more accessible than some earlier or rarer models. Yet that does not make the car any less special. In many ways, it makes it more appealing. The Silver Shadow II offers the full Rolls-Royce experience, with genuine presence, exceptional comfort and a driving character that feels far more special than its current market position suggests.
This is not a car that needs to shout. It is a proper luxury saloon from a different era, built around refinement, confidence and quiet authority. A car for someone who values comfort, craftsmanship and the unmistakable feeling of arriving in a Rolls-Royce.
