THE EARLY YEARS
It started in the passenger seat.
My earliest memories of the automotive world are not from a showroom. They are from the passenger seat of my father’s French classics, particularly his Citroën CX Turbo 2. Model cars, motoring books and classic rallies were part of growing up. Later, I joined my father in rallies in one of his Talbots.
THE FIRST SALE
One unexpected first sale.
At fifteen, I unexpectedly sold my first car while visiting a classic Citroën specialist. That moment opened my eyes to a world about much more than the machine: its history and the people who care for it. My own first car, a Jaguar XJ8 in Spruce Green Mica, would later shape my taste in classics.
THE NEW CHAPTER
A different way of doing business.
I later attended IVA Driebergen and gained experience beyond the automotive industry. Bringing commercial discipline together with a personal fascination for significant motorcars became the foundation of Zee Cartwell.
