Nearly ninety years after the original Birkin Blowers helped define an era of British motorsport, Bentley revived their spirit through the Blower Continuation Series. Developed by Bentley Mulliner using original drawings, period tooling and Team Car No. 2 as its master reference, the project became the first continuation series of a pre-war competition car created by the original manufacturer.
More than 2,000 individual components were recreated with the involvement of specialist craftsmen throughout the United Kingdom. The result is not an original 1920s Blower, but an official Bentley continuation built according to the construction methods, engineering principles and mechanical character of the period cars.
Only twelve customer examples were produced, all of which were allocated before production began. Chassis No. 8 is further distinguished by its unusually personal specification. Inspired by the interior of a historic Bentley, its owner commissioned a deep dark-red leather finish that was not part of the original Continuation palette. Following historical research, the colour was approved by Mulliner, giving the car a subtle identity of its own.
Preserved in exceptional condition and showing only delivery and demonstration mileage, Chassis No. 8 represents one of Bentley’s most ambitious modern heritage projects. It combines the raw mechanical presence of a pre-war competition Bentley with the precision and craftsmanship of a factory-built Mulliner creation.
With no further examples to be produced, the Blower Continuation occupies a unique position within Bentley’s history: exceptionally rare, mechanically authentic in character and created for collectors who value both provenance and driving experience.
